I personally see this as a positive step. In general, the public sector in Pakistan and the world in general is inefficient and hosts a huge number of stale employees who contribute nothing to the organization they work at, high corruption, low productivity and zero creativity. So the public sector usually drains the government income and becomes a burden rather than a source for profit.
Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday gave the go ahead for 26 per cent privatisation of ailing national carrier PIA to boost the quality of the airline.
The decision came a day after Sharif chaired a special cabinet meeting which also focused on the loss-making Pakistan International Airlines.
